Join us at Outsiders And Others for our first performance in our new gallery space. Get ready to be blown away by the soulful tunes of Declan O'Donovan and the captivating performance of Ben B.W. Brandes. This intimate in-person event is not to be missed!

 

Declan O’Donovan’s sound and musical space is reflected by the wild and untouched backdrop of his home in the Yukon Territory. Once within the beautiful melancholy of O’Donovan’s piano and the raw poetic rhythm of his voice, one can find themselves being woven into the transcendent nature of the relationship between music and human emotion.

Ben B.W. Brandes is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist. Songwriting and visual arts (exploring the darker and stranger side of things) have ruled the roost ever since the memory machine kicked in. After a decade of music in Montreal, Vancouver is now home, where the visual world has taken the wheel from the audioscape. All roads have led to the world of DIY short film making, a place where all the creative processes he loves can be combined.MUSIC PROJECTS: The Unsettlers, B.W Brandes, Horses With Pink Hands, Dark Blue Dance Hall, Deer Ashes,Dear (DAD).

Ben and Declan met in Montreal in 2007 somewhere in the shadows of the rabbit hole known as Grumpys Bar. This will be the first time they disturb the silence both together and apart on the same stage. After a two month immersion in the woods of Saturna Island. Declan returns to shore to team up with Brandes for this one night only performance at Outsiders and Others Gallery in downtown Vancouver. The show will take place within the light of a projected film that Ben shot while visiting Declan on the island in Dec, 2024.
