“The humble beginnings of Yaho-Hanan Fiwchuk began in southern Ontario in a small town called Thorold - we lived on the other side of the tracks, also known as t.s.

It was a hockey family and artistic behaviour wasn't exactly in vogue. I was a late bloomer and discovered myself as an artist fully attending (when I wasn't paranoid) the university of waterloo. I painted mainly at home.

My instructor came to my studio apt. to grade the work and gave me an a- then denied it, I couldn't graduate.

So I walked from Waterloo to Toronto en route to New York where I got in trouble with the law. I ended up on the streets of Toronto.

It was getting late in October and I heard it didn't snow in Vancouver and I've been here since 1983.

I hope you enjoy my art as much as I do.”
