Ralph Headings’ studio, “Not a Toy Shop Studio”, was created in order to recycle old, used, and unwanted materials that would otherwise have been discarded or recycled. The pieces are given new life and purpose by the hands of designer Ralph Heading.
Assembling, piling, blending and playing with incompatible materials results in the creation of designer objects that could be defined as works of art with a practical value.
The sculpture is inspired by the past, by the era of advanced Industrial Revolution, the development of steam machine. He is also fascinated by Victorian England, Steampunk, and Dieselpunk, and has been greatly influenced by Outsider Art.
