This exhibition will show the other creative sides of 3 practicing tattoo artists. beyon wren moor, Lev Sibilla, and Marcel Xin.
beyon wren moor is a 2spirit indigenous painter, writer, and tattoo artist from Pimicikamak Cree Nation in northern Manitoba and currently living in Massachusetts. Lev Sibilla is a self-taught mutli-media artist and professional scavenger, collecting materials in the margins and transmuting them into three-dimensional diary entries, ornaments, and tableaus. Born in Oregon in 1999, his work is shaped in part by his experience in the new century as a diasporic Jew, existing ungendered, and on the autism spectrum.
Marcel Xin is a trans first generation immigrant from beijing who grew up in Victoria, and very recently moved to Vancouver. They are a self/community taught in all my artistic practices, and feels incredibly grateful to be able to work as a tattoo artist and share their art with others despite studying a different field in post secondary. They majored in philosophy and minored in art history, and aspires to become a librarian.
